Window Tinting

With a broken rear electric window needing the whole frame out in order to replace the window glass metal strip, I decided to tint the window while it was out. And as I had a helper (Thanks Rich!) we did both sides.

Sadly, we’ll have to strip them out again, the quarter glass metal strip is rusted through also and will need replacing.

Having done the rear passenger windows, I figured the boot windows also needed doing, so I had a crack at those during the week on my own.

With the trim removed it was reasonably simple to do. I’ve not bothered with the alpine glass, it’s tinted by default anyway, and you can’t see much through it anyway.

Bonzer! I just have the boot door window to tint now, when I can find a Helper!

The film is very cheap film, about £5 for 3m, and I’m told it’s not very UV stable, but this is a test of my abilities to tint the window as much as anything else. If they go purple, I’ll have to pull em off and re-tint with more expensive film.
