Cellar/Workshop Revamp

Last week I finally got fed up of the massive pile of boxes that was my cellar, with a crowded workbench and knackered KVM that stopped working a while ago.

So, I got a friend to give me a hand and stash the boxes that needed to stay under the front of the house, where there’s a crawlspace, and got down to Makro to buy some racking.

Luckily for me, Makro has on offer at the moment some Fairline 5-Shelf 175kg per shelf light duty racking for £19.99+vat. I ended up buying 4 initially, followed by a further visit the next day for 3 more, and another one this morning!

Then there are the two workstations:

I’ve added into the mix now a two-user KVM system (An HP badged, Avocent Cat5 unit), a Windows 7 PC with CD Burner, and linked to the USB Hub in the monitor & speakers on workstation 2. It actually sits on the rack behind workstation 2.

I also installed an additional line card in my BT Revelation Phone system (though I’m considering upgrading it to a BCM50 at some point) and punched in an extra extension for a phone.

Edit: 19/9/2011

Added one final rack now, as I *just* had space for it!
