A Weak Moment, and this months leaks…

I had a weak moment this weekend while at the LRO show at Peterborough, and bought a Tank Guard for the Disco. £55 which wasn’t bad, and it’s a fair old chunk of steel!
And I discovered the source of my coolant leak. When installing the new Rad & TD5 Alive Top Coolant Hose (below) last week, I think we disturbed the o-ring on the fuel cooler while changing the thermostat out.

I also replaced the Auto Box pipes (the cause of my recent PAS pipe leak) – check out how much stuff has to come out to get to the front pipes (Which, hadn’t in my case gone, though Rich’s Disco has had them go recently).

While they weren’t the problem, which was the bracket holding the auto box pipes in check had snapped, and the pipes had fallen and worn against the metal pipe on top of the steering box. New bracket (£23!) and pipes (£120ish) later and a new metal pipe (£10 or so if you can find one, no bugger stocks it) and the Disco is back to form.

Above you can see the pipe that went, and it’s a real bugger to change. Had to get someone to help and hold the auto pipework up and out the way while manipulating it with one hand until finally it all aligned and one end did up. Then we had to repeat that for the top pipe!

Anyway, I’ve ordered some new o-rings and some lube, so the Fuel Cooler is next on my hit-list!
